Is it weird that you are not good in English? Is it humiliating if you can't speak English? No, I do not think that you should feel ashamed, humiliated and embarrassed if you are not good in English. But if you do, you should have done some efforts to achieve anything that you want in your life. It is often said that, if you can't and don't speak or understand English, you can't achieve success and your life would be miserable as it always does. 'It is either you masterly good in English or you will ended up living under the bridge.' that was what my teacher told me when I was in primary school. So i guess that makes everyone wants to do good and better in their least favourite subject that is English.Okay, let's get back to the topic.
English taught me to choose my friend wisely. Why did I write that? It is because I always get a good grade in everyone else's least favourite subject that is English which happened to be the apple of my eyes. From primary school until high school; and now a university, I have never gotten myself grades that are lower than B. It is because I got As or Bs instead, in every English examination I had ever taken. It does seem like I am a smart cookie in this subject. Hahaha. My friends used to ask me, 'How did you do it? How did you wrote long essays as if you are writing in Malay?'. Cat got my tongue when they asked that. I don't know what to answer. I have never done a revision before, so how can I answer their questions? I just went to the exam hall and answer the exam paper just like I did in other subjects. One day, I answered them this 'Maybe because I read a lot of books. It doesn't matter what languages they are, I just read.' It seems unnatural. Isn't it?
When it comes to English class, everyone wants to be NEAR me. Everyone wants to sit next to me. Everyone wants to be in the same group with me. And Everyone wants to be nice to me during that period. I don't even know which one of them that sincerely wanted to befriend me. I only have one closest friend in my class and many closest friends out of my class. So when someone who was barely talking to you in class at the drop of a hat suddenly came and greeted you, it did feel weird. I still remember the time that we were in a group discussion, someone who had never talked to me, talked to me. It is a bizarre thing that the power of English gives people such a huge action towards others. People change when they want something. People can change if when they are weak in certain situations; from bad to good, from indignation to relief and from introverts to extroverts.
Personally speaking, not everyone who goes near you wants to be your friends. Maybe they were there because they want something from you. Maybe they want to take advantages of you. But if you are smart enough, you will know which one is your real friend and which one is your foe. It is all greek to me before, but now as the clock is ticking, I think I could tell the differences between real friends and foes or fake friends. Last but not least, everyone needs to cherish their true friends no matter what happens. It is very difficult to find yourself a best friend but once you do, do not disregard them as they will always be there for you.
Just like I said, I only have one closest friend in my high school class. We were always together. It is quite funny actually. I actually have many friends but not from my class. In every other class, I absolutely have at least two of them in every class. And they are all not from the first class like I was but they were good to me. They were honest. They were....not pretending to be someone else. They were not arrogant. People might think that ' oh why are you being their friends? They are stupid. Their attitudes are not good.' but they are not like what people think. Even though they are a little slow in their studies, they are decent. Decent enough for me to be their friend. At least they respect their teachers (yeah. maybe not all of them) but everyone needs to chill. Don't be rude. Treat others nicely. Treat them with kindness. Kindness is everything. It is beyond any other good things. It is proof to prove that you're good. These students need to be given attention just like any other students(the smart one) I find it a little humiliating when some of the teachers said something like ' They can not join our visits this weekend. It's because they are from the last class.' Little did I know what was my friend's feeling when she heard that coming from out of that mouth. Everyone could be joining that visit if they've got money to pay. But this is beyond my imagination. I think people need to do good, or at least act nice. Do not say anything rude face to face. Learn to say sorry. Learn to appreciate others. Learn to say good things when you are mad.
